A 13 page resource pack with a Garden theme. Links to Outdoor Learning, Science, Plants and Animals, nature, reading, writing, handwriting, numbers to 10 and poetry. Pages 1,2 and 3 show colour cards using symbols. Children can count, cut and order from 1 to 10. They can also match the numbers and number words to the pictures. Pages 4 to 7 show colour flashcards of the objects seen in the maths sheets and found in the garden. Cut and duplicate (and laminate) for matching games, and to add to your displays. Page 8 is a colouring sheet showing black and white pictures of all of the symbols in the garden. Pages 9 to 12 show handwriting sheets where children read the sentences, trace them and match them to the correct black and white symbols. Page 13 is an original poem - Rosie’s Garden. Share the poem and children can then draw Rosie’s garden. They could also underline rhyming words and / or words related to the garden symbols. This resource consists of two worksheets, each focusing on Castles and what might be found inside them. The first worksheet covers numbers 1 to 5, the second covers numbers 6 to 10. Sheet 3 is a blank template that can be used in a variety of ways. Each worksheet includes five pictures related to castles, such as kings, horses, knights and princesses. Children count and colour the pictures and cut out the images. There are matching number cards for each picture. Children can write the corresponding number, trace the numeral, and then match these cards to the pictures on the worksheets. A fun festive treat for young children to get them in the mood for Christmas. The activity requires careful observation skills. There are 18 pictures of animals all wearing a different Christmas hat. There are also 18 hat pictures for children to match up to the animals. You could use the activity like a lotto game where 3 children each have a board showing 6 animals in their hats. They would then try to match up the correct hats with the correct animal. Alternatively, duplicate the animal pictures, laminate and cut out for matching games. The final sheet of the resource shows all 18 animals - this can be used for matching the animal pictures, for inspiration for making posters or Christmas cards or for speaking and listening activities. Extend the activity by asking the children to design and make a Christmas hat for themselves or for an animal of their choice.
